Sevilla, with 'Papu' Gomez on the pitch for over an hour, mortgage the King's Cup final, beating Barcelona at home in the first leg semi-final.
On the ground at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan stadium it finished 2-0, with one goal for the Andalusians: Jules Koundé opened the scoring after 25 minutes and the former Ivan Rakitic closed the score in the 40th minute of the second half.
The return match will be played on March 3 at the Camp Nou.
The first leg of the other semi-final, which pits Athletic Bilbao against Valencia's Levante, will be staged tomorrow evening in the Basque Country.
