(ANSA) - NAPLES, 10 FEB - The singer Bobby Solo has filed a complaint with the Naples prosecutor for the thirty-year theft of the rights to his songs.
This was announced by the US legal consultancy firm Emme Team.
The scam, explain the US consultants, involved very famous songs composed by the 76-year-old singer-songwriter, aka Roberto Satti, such as "Una Lacrima sul Viso" and "Se piangi, se laugh", deposited by people outside the US copyright office and then used as collateral for bank loans.
In Naples, the Italian-American consultants of Emme Team recently delivered a substantial documentation concerning an alleged audiovisual piracy round (estimated at 500-600 million euros a year) and denounced the alleged responsible for the illegal turnover which involves, it is emphasized, subjects residing in various Italian locations.
According to Emme Team "dozens of Italian and foreign companies have distributed the musical pieces of one of the most famous Italian artists in the world, without recognizing the due remuneration to the author and without presenting him with a report on sales".
It is, Emme Team stresses, "a fraud that has been going on for over 30 years that ended after the artist asked to investigate. Versions of Bobby Solo's songs were made in French, German, English, Korean, Chinese and Japanese, without the composer being able to perceive what he owed ".
The theft would finally be stopped, thanks to the work of the consultants of Emme Team, who after decades managed to denounce those responsible, "making sure that the artist finally returned the owner of the music he composed".
