At the heart of pregnancy denial

At 9:05 pm on France 2.

Broadcast for the first time on France 2 on May 8, 2019, the TV movie “The child I was not expecting” had upset 4.3 million viewers.

This fiction deserves to be seen, reviewed and shared for the power of its purpose and the strength of its interpretation.

The heroine's name is Johanna.

She is responsible in marketing, mother of a 7 year old daughter and happy with her husband, Laurent.

But one night, there she is in violent stomach pains.

She gives birth in her bathroom and throws the newborn in the trash in front of the house.

When she wakes up in the hospital, she has no memory of what happened, swearing that she was not pregnant.

She was then indicted for attempted homicide on a minor.

The formidable Alix Poisson, who lends her her features, touches again here on the subject of the denial of pregnancy after having interpreted in 2009 Véronique Courjault - condemned for having killed three of her newborns that she had frozen - in “Murderous course of 'an ordinary mother', on Arte.

The role of Johanna earned her the award for best actress at the Luchon Festival of Television Creations in February 2019.

The strength of the France 2 TV movie is not to focus only on this mother but also on her entourage and in particular her relationship with her husband, played by Bruno Solo.

The poignant plot is thus the story of an inconceivable drama but also that of the evolution of a couple.

This choice of the prism of the intimate is a real success which puts the human front in a scenario on the denial of pregnancy - which concerns hundreds of women each year in France - without being satisfied with medical or legal considerations.

Kev Adams has grown up

Kev Adams, the showman.

LP / Jean-Baptiste Quentin

At 9:15 p.m. on TMC.

The show starts off like a rock star.

A video shows clips from Kev Adams' last tour: the rooms full, the audience standing, the fans asking for autographs.

After the triumph of the “Young Man Show” (which you will find in the second part of the evening), in which he told the story of a high school student.

The 22-year-old comic resumed his favorite themes.

He resuscitates his vicious German teacher or taunts his mother, who forbids him to bathe after the meal so as not to disturb his digestion.

But this time, the comedian dares a little more trashy valves, including a sequence on a gay nightclub, or addresses the divorce of his parents.

Above all, he assumes his showman side.

Excellent in his performances and his gestures, he imitates in a hilarious rap squirrels of Central Park who have "the rage" and "wear Fuck the Savings Bank t-shirts".

A little later, he offers a zumba class to his audience, dances like a robot or starts a moonwalk.

After an impressive physical performance, he leaves an overheated room.

Kev Adams has not completely finished his teenage crisis, but he has indeed moved up a gear.

In the 18th century, Madame de La Pommeraye, who was a widow, rich and no longer believed in the promises of love, ended up succumbing to the advances of a licensed libertine, the Marquis des Arcis.

It is true that the latter is himself sincerely in love with her.

But when he announces to her, a few years later, that he is bored, Madame de La Pommeraye, deeply hurt, thinks of revenge.

Precisely, the heart of the marquis beats only for the beauty of a young woman, Mlle de Joncquières, whose mother has been ruined and who survives - but the marquis does not know it - by prostituting herself ... The disappointed lover works to a Machiavellian plot.

"Mademoiselle de Joncquières", which the director Emmanuel Mouret wrote from the words of Denis Diderot in "Jacques le fataliste et son maître", is a superb romantic score illuminated by the duo with ideal alchemy formed by Cécile de France and Edouard Baer.

Gold music for yellow pieces

Gims, Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine and Gautier Capuçon in the program "Symphonie pour la vie: special yellow pieces".

Bestimage / Dominique Jacovides

At 9:05 pm on France 3.

When Gims in a pink suit performs brilliantly and a beautiful vibrato “So far everything is fine” with a symphony orchestra, it's surprising and very successful.

On the mythical stage of the Opéra-Comique, “Symphonie pour la vie” offers more than two hours of demanding but accessible music. This solidarity concert is intended to collect the famous yellow pieces so that the Hospitals of Paris - Hospitals of France Foundation can improve care and reception of children and teenagers near their parents.

Classical, jazz, varieties, popular tunes: artists from all backgrounds follow one another in tasty associations, under the watchful eye of Brigitte Macron, who has taken up the torch initiated by Bernadette Chirac to defend this cause.

This explosion of talents sublimated by the Lamoureux orchestra has something to encourage the public to participate in the solidarity fundraising by SMS (by sending DON to 92 111).

DOCUMENTARY.

What the stones of the Louvre say

At 9:05 p.m. on RMC Découverte.

We know that the Louvre is full of treasures.

What is less known is that the very construction of this palace turned museum is a technological challenge.

This documentary reveals what is hidden under the stones of the building, an architectural feat, which used metal to consolidate them, well before its time.

The pyramid and the debates during its construction, the off-center perspective, the disappeared Tuileries Palace, the transformation into a museum… We learn a lot about the history of the famous building, with great 3D laser surveys.

We gain height, too, thanks to impressive images of drones.

We regret, however, the too sustained pace of the report, yet interesting, with music worthy of a suspense film, too invasive.

EDITOR'S RATING: 3/5
