The mother of soccer coach Jürgen Klopp has died.
Elisabeth Klopp, who comes from Glatten in the Black Forest, died in January at the age of 81.
This has now been announced by the town hall of the Baden-Württemberg community and the trainer's advisor.
The "Black Forest Messenger" had previously reported on it.
Due to the corona pandemic, Klopp could not travel to Germany for the funeral.
This was "due to the terrible times," said the 53-year-old of the newspaper.
"As soon as circumstances permit, we will hold a wonderful commemoration to suit her."

Klopp is currently under contract with English champions Liverpool FC.
Due to the spread of a possibly even more contagious mutation of the coronavirus, Great Britain is currently classified as a risk area by the federal government.

“She meant everything to me.
She was a real mom in the best sense of the word, "said Klopp.
He last visited his mother on her 80th birthday in Germany.
"As a devout Christian, I know she is in a better place now."
Klopp's father Norbert had already died in 2000 at the age of 66, according to the »Black Forest Messenger«.
