(ANSA) - ROME, 11 FEB - "Clima Comune" is born, the anti-union network in favor of StopGlobalWarming.eu, the European Citizens' Initiative promoted by the activist Marco Cappato.
With the achievement of 1 million signatures, the Initiative will force the European Commission to discuss the Carbon Tax proposal, shifting the tax burden from work to CO2 emissions: an idea validated by 27 Nobel laureates.
Already over 60 the adhesions of the first Italian citizens in support of the initiative.
From the mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, of Naples Luigi De Magistris, to the mayors of Bergamo, Giorgio Gori, Palermo, Leoluca Orlando, Florence Dario Nardella (also President of Eurocities), BariAntonio Decaro, Parma Federico Pizzarotti, Pesaro Matteo Ricci (also President of ALI-Italian Local Autonomies) and many others.
The mayors promoting StopGlobalWarming.eu have undertaken to inform citizens about the possibility of signing the European Citizens' Initiative, also using the website and institutional spaces of the municipality.
"Clima Comune" has already crossed national borders, having also obtained the signature of the first citizens of six European cities, including Munich, Frankfurt, Dublin, Eindhoven and Dortmund.
The deadline for reaching one million signatures is April 22, 2021, World Earth Day.
