(ANSA) - PRAGUE, 11 FEB - The Parliament of Prague tonight rejected the government's request to extend the state of emergency for the coronavirus pandemic. The state of emergency currently in force - the sixth starting from 20 September 2020 - will end on 14 February, after which the major competences will pass to the regional councils. The government coalition formed by Ano (Action of the Discontented Citizen) of Prime Minister Andrej Babis and the Social Democrats (Cssd) did not find the necessary support for the extension of a further 30 days of the state of emergency, neither by the Communists (Kscm), nor by the parties of the opposition. Only 48 Ano and Cssd deputies voted in favor of the extension, while 54 votes from the 106 deputies present would be needed. (HANDLE).
