(ANSA) - ROME, 11 FEB - "Franco Marini has done a lot for the CISL and for our country. He immediately chose to be on the side of the weakest, the workers, the elderly and the young in his life".
Annamaria Furlan, general secretary of the CISL, thus recalled the former number one of the CISL and former president of the Senate on the day of the funeral.
"Today - said Furlan in a moving speech - I would like to remember and greet my friend Franco, a constant reference for many of us. He was a great secretary general of the CISL, one of the most loved and esteemed. He had great respect for people, starting with those. who so much wanted to represent the workers,
man of the trade union, of the institutions, noble father of the CISL.
It was a great Italian.
He was our commander, he accompanied our union life for many years.
Even when he had political and institutional positions he has always respected the autonomy of the CISL, defended it as a trade unionist, as general secretary, and respected it as a politician and a man of the institutions ". (ANSA).
