In the hospitals in Israel, 1,027 corona patients are hospitalized in critical condition - the lowest figure since January 9, when 1,006 patients were hospitalized in this condition.

According to data from the National Security Headquarters published this morning (Thursday), this is the first time in more than a month that there are less than a thousand patients in critical condition.

There was also a decrease in the adhesion coefficient (R), which now stands at 0.91.

The data also show that yesterday 76,291 tests were performed to detect the virus, 5,536 of which were found to be positive - so that the rate of positive results stands at 7.3%.

The number of patients active in the virus currently stands at 69,456 people.

Since the outbreak of the plague, 711,539 residents of Israel have been infected with the virus.

5,256 people died from corona.

The decline in the number of patients in critical condition can also be seen at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, where the number of patients in this condition has dropped for the first time from 100 patients for the first time in many weeks.

According to Professor Dror Mevorach, director of the corona department at the hospital, a total of 97 patients are hospitalized, 73 of them in critical and critical condition.

"We have closed one internal corona ward and we currently have four internal corona wards, two corona intensive care units and a pediatric intensive care unit with one inpatient," Prof. Mevorach told Israel Today.

"Without a doubt, there is a dramatic change in load. The vaccine is showing its signs in people aged 60 and over and quarantine is also having an effect."

Professor Zvika Granot, from the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University, also commented on the encouraging data, and in an interview with Israel Today he said that a decrease in morbidity was seen last week, but that the current closure did not help at all in this fight: "What helped was the large vaccination campaign in Israel. "We protected people with a chance of getting sick. If the operation continues, we will continue to see a decrease in the number of patients and indeed the situation will be better."

However, Prof. Granot wanted to emphasize that despite the improvement in the data, the residents of the country should not be complacent, as the plague is not over yet.

A slightly more optimistic picture can also be found in the reports of Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva, from which it was reported that 45 patients are hospitalized there, 13 of them in the Corona intensive care unit.

29 of the patients are in critical condition, 11 are respirated and six are connected to an Acme device.

"Young patients with severe lung disease come to us, some of whom need respiration immediately after being hospitalized - none of them are immunized," said Dr. Uri Galanta, a senior physician in the Internal Intensive Care Unit at the medical center.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein said about 140,000 people were vaccinated against the virus yesterday, half of whom received the first dose and the other half received the second dose.

He added that more than two million residents of the country are entitled to a warehouse certificate, after more than 3.6 million people were vaccinated with the first vaccine.

"As I said yesterday, we will encourage the vaccinated with the green label. Go get vaccinated - it will not only protect you and your environment, it will also allow you to return to a normal life faster."
