The national vaccination campaign is beginning to bear fruit:

for the first time in more than a month, the number of patients in critical condition has dropped below 1,000, according to data from the Ministry of Health published tonight (Thursday). 

Of the 1,551 hospitalized, 992 are in critical condition, of whom 384 are in critical condition and 313 are respirated.

The death toll from the plague is currently 5,272.

These data are consistent with the growing information in the HMOs regarding the effect of vaccines.

According to new data published in the afternoon by the Maccabi Health Fund, less than 0.1% of the vaccinated who received both doses and are entitled to a vaccinator's certificate became infected with the virus. 

3,734,894 Israelis were vaccinated in the first dose, and 2,376,138 were vaccinated in the second dose.

Despite the slowdown in the rate of the vaccination campaign, this week we vaccinated about 130,000 Israelis daily, and in recent days there has even been a slight increase in their number.

The rate of infection among those aged 60 and over - the age group from which more than 90 percent of the dead come from Corona and who began to be vaccinated first - has already dropped by 58 percent compared to the peak of the epidemic in mid-January.

The number of patients hospitalized among this age group decreased by 44 percent, and the number of severely ill patients decreased by 38 percent.
