All the people of Israel will travel on the weekend: here are 5 lesser known places

When all the people of Israel flock to see a flow in an storm waterfall, anemones in a fertile reserve or on top of water in Ein Yarkam, you will walk alongside those beautiful natural phenomena - only in less familiar (and much calmer) places.

Here's your winning quintet

Anemones in the benefits of Ruhama and the Nir Moshe Forest (Photo: Ziv Reinstein, Editing: Yardena Abodi Fox)

Anemones in the Nir Moshe forest

Where everyone sees anemones:

Barry, Shokeda Forest and Fertile Reserve.

Where do you see anemones:

Nir Moshe Forest.

It is impossible to open a newspaper, website or travel app today without encountering these red-red anemones.

And with them come the masses of Beit Yisrael, to those places that are tiredly familiar.

And this is a good enough reason to visit an unrecognized forest in the western Negev, which goes by the name "Nir Moshe Forest".

It is a small forest, less than a thousand dunams, whose planting began in the 50s of the last century, with pines, cypresses and eucalyptus mostly.

The forest, named after the seat next to it, includes scenic roads, winding bike paths (you should stock up in advance if you are interested), invested picnic corners, lookouts and also one captivating spot, where an impressive windmill sculpture, created by artist David Yasur.

And the anemones, obviously.

They appear at many points along the way.

Our recommendation: car or bicycle route of four kilometers, which starts at the entrance to Moshav Nir Moshe and ends on Route 334, next to the ranch - where is "Anemone Hill." Of course one can only reach the hill, a long picnic in nature.

Reach:

"Nir Moshe" In Wise and from there according to the signs to the Nir Moshe Forest and "Derech HaYomneri Road".

Another thing:

another scenic trip also awaits you in Nahal Gerar Park, near Netivot. Do not give up climbing the picturesque mound of reeds, which is located in the park.

Almonds knock out a performance in Yatir Forest

Where everyone is photographed with almonds:

different points in the lowlands, the Lower Galilee and the Jerusalem mountains.

Where you are photographed with almonds:

Yatir Forest in the northern Negev.

First of all - if someone corrects you and states that you should say "almond" and not "almond", tell him that both are possible.

Under warranty.

In any case, a surprising place to watch the abundance of almond trees is in the northern Negev, the largest planted forest in Israel - Yatir Forest.

This forest is located in the twilight zone on the border of the desert and creates sharp transitions between the landscapes of the Mediterranean forest and the dramatic landscapes of the Judean Desert.

Right now is the time when the "almond celebration in the Yatir region" is being held.

If you decide to take part in the happening, expect photos of families in nature, neat picnic corners, buying picnic baskets, buying personal art kits, balloons in special shapes, selling local produce and more, and all this - in a huge almond grove next to the forest.

The happening will take place on February 16-12 (not Saturday) from 2pm to 9pm.

Admission: NIS 10 per person (from the age of 3) by pre-registering on the goyatir.co.il website.

Want to increase?

Take a walk on the "Agricultural Facilities Trail" in the Yatir Forest - a short trail of about 600 meters, marked and well controlled in the area.

There is not only a beautiful view of the area, but also the remains of ancient agricultural installations, including cisterns, aridity for the production of olive oil and more.

It is also recommended to visit the nearby poor ruin, where the remains of an ancient synagogue.

Arrive: In

Wise: "Almonds Hevel Yatir".

One more thing:

it is recommended to visit the nearby Tel Arad, to explore the remains of the fortified Canaanite city with beautiful observation points, an ancient waterworks, the remains of a temple and more.

Admission is paid and by prior arrangement.

The secret lupines of Tel Katra

Where everyone meets the lupine blossom:

Tel Shocha in the lowlands or Nahal Tavor in the Galilee.

Where do you meet the lupine blossom:

in Tel Katra.

Tel Katra is such an unfamiliar site that it does not seem to exist at all.

But he is.

This is a cute hill on the outskirts of Gedera, which rises to a height of a little more than 50 meters above sea level and where archeological remains from the Bronze and Iron Ages were discovered.

From here there is a beautiful panoramic view of the whole area.

But at this time of year, it is a small and unknown lupine kingdom, from which you can watch the purple-blue carpets of these beautiful flowers.

And more importantly: without crowds of hikers around you, which will allow you to discover on this hill cute intimate corners in front of the view.

Arrive:

"Katra Hill" in Wise.

Arrival from Sprintzak Street in Gedera.

One more thing:

a light walk in the nearby Givat Merar National Park - a beauty of candy that most hikers are unfamiliar with.

The place is well controlled and the trip is suitable for all ages.

Flowing to the Golan: Eagle Waterfall

What waterfall everyone knows in the north:

Saar Waterfall.

Which waterfall will you reach in the north:

Eagle Waterfall.

Well, it's not that an eagle waterfall in the Golan is a hidden and unfamiliar waterfall, but relative to an storm waterfall, flooding water and ratings, an eagle waterfall is a much more sane option.

One way or another, there is something mesmerizing in the sight of water falling down in such a great noise.

The creek water (bearing the same name), melts on stern basalt rocks and continues on its way deep into the canyon.

Keep in mind that these days, after the break in the rains, the flow is less significant.

Nearby you can have a fun picnic in the shade of the grove trees that dot the area.

Do you want to extract the bones in a small way?

From the parking lot of the waterfall comes an easy and short circular route (less than a kilometer), which will take you to beautiful observation points towards the canyon and to the top of the waterfall, which is decorated with haunted bushes.

Arrive:

"Eagle Waterfall" in Wise.

Arrival from road 808.

Another thing:

on the way there or back, skip to Ein Pik (next to the village of Pik), a small and picturesque spring hidden in the heart of a tangled grove.

A classic place to relax and immerse your feet on a sunny and beautiful day.

A much more sane option.

Far but equal: Gabi is huge

In which water do they all dip their feet in the winter: In the

back of a perch or Ein Yarkam in

which water do you dip your feet: In the

back of a giant.

Unlike Ein Yarkam backs for example (which are not really backs by definition, but at least look like that), back tops are not familiar to many travelers.

They are also almost at the end of the world.

That is, 20 minutes from Eilat.

But now, after the recent floods have flowed in the southern prairie region, they are full, clear and especially - photogenic.

By the way, they are also deep, so if you are in the business of a brave winter immersion - take this into account and be careful.

To get there, take Route 12, and at the 31st mile mark, turn east and from there south for about three miles.

Camp next to a large acacia tree and walk east, marking the green paths and from there to the black and blue markings, and again the green (it is mandatory to have a map).

And if Eilat is really far away from you and you are still in the matter of Gabi Water, try Gabi Yemin, near the Great Crater and Dimona.

The route is easy and suitable for the whole family.

To get there:

"Nahal Atek" in Wise and from there according to the description above.

One more thing:

Do you want another bone extraction?

A trip to the Red Canyon will be a beauty of dessert for your southern journey.
