The Victoires de la Musique will be held this evening from 9:05 p.m.
The awards ceremony, broadcast live, will be presented by Stéphane Bern and Laury Thilleman on France 2 and hosted by Laurent Goumarre, Marion Guilbaud and Alex Vizorek on France Inter.
The event, hosted by the musical Seine, a futuristic vessel from Île Seguin in Boulogne-Billancourt, will however take place without an audience, Covid requires.
Named in three of the four award-winning categories this year, Benjamin Biolay is the big favorite of this thirty-sixth edition.
With his
Grand Prix
, the forty-eight-year-old artist rolls for the album and the best song of the year (title
Comment est ta penalty
).
He can also claim the Victory for best male artist.
Gaël Faye, meanwhile, is also in the running in the best artist and best album categories, with
Lundi méchant
.
Aya Nakamura, finally, the most listened to French artist in the world last year, could well crush the competition and win the title of female artist of the year.

Revamped Victories
The health crisis is invited in these festivities.
If the cultural industry has undergone a lockdown for nearly a year, these Victories are an opportunity to restore a creative and hopeful impetus to the music sector.
This is why the president of the event, Romain Vivien, emphasizes wanting to
“put live music in the spotlight”
this year, with many musical performances, which will punctuate the awards ceremony.
"The ceremony as a whole will therefore give pride of place to live performances with sequences specially created for the occasion"
, he was enthusiastic
.
The pandemic got the better of the Concert of the Year and Stage Revelation of the Year categories, which will be absent from the awards in 2021. To compensate, two Revelation prizes are planned instead of one, divided between Female Revelation and Male Revelation.
A new Victory was also created, that of the title most streamed in France.
But there is little suspense, since, over the period selected - from December 1, 2019 to November 30, 2020 - Gradur and Heuss l'Enfoiré were named winners for their title
Don't come back,
which counted 101,060. 557 streamings.
As is customary, an artist will be particularly honored during the event.
The 2021 edition will celebrate Jane Birkin, who will receive a Victoire d'honneur from Jean-Louis Aubert, recently recovered from heart surgery, and himself Honorary President this year.

The vote, the college of which had been enlarged in 2020, from six hundred to nine hundred jurors, will be held in three rounds.
The first will remain reserved for professionals and representatives of the music industry, while the second will be reserved for these three hundred new voters, not from the sector and recruited on a cover letter.
The third round, defined by an audience who spoke on the Victoires website between January 11 and February 11, will only concern the Song of the Year and Audiovisual Creation of the Year categories.
