Argentina broke a new barrier related to the coronavirus.
With
another 155 deaths
reported this Friday, the country
reached 50,029 deaths
from the disease.
Thus, it became the 13th nation to exceed 50,000 fatalities.
Above Argentina, the number of deaths is only the United States, Brazil, Mexico, India, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Russia, Germany, Spain, Iran and Colombia.
In addition, the Ministry of Health of the Nation
reported 7,151 new positive cases,
which already climbed to 2,015,496 since the detection of the first infected in the country, at the beginning of last March.
Of the 151,307 people who are studying the disease, 3,538 remain hospitalized in Intensive Care Units (ICU), whose occupancy level is 59.8% in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) and 54.6% in the rest of the country.
In the last hours, 49,074 tests were carried out, with a
positivity of 14.5%.
Since the beginning of the outbreak, 6,739,079 diagnostic tests for this disease have been performed.
For his part, the Buenos Aires Deputy Minister of Health, Nicolás Kreplak, said that a
second wave of infections
is expected
"for May"
, although he stressed that, in that month, it is expected to have "a good percentage of vaccinated who are (people from) risk factor's".
"We are not in a second wave, I hope that the second strong wave will be established for May, analyzing what has happened in other countries. But I am concerned that March and April, with social activities that were not there last year, could emulate the December conditions, "he said.
The minister maintained that, "when analyzing what has happened in all the countries of the world when the cold begins, it is when one waits for the second wave."

However, he said that in the province of Buenos Aires, they hope to have "a better vaccination for May, to have a good percentage of vaccinated who are (people with) risk factors."
With regard to the advance of vaccination, he pointed out that

because "we have started and never stopped" and remarked that "all the health teams that are almost all vaccinated are registered for immunization."
Kreplak reported that from next week the province will begin to receive "more" vaccines, following the scheduled arrival for today of a new flight with
Sputnik V
vaccines
from Russia.
