Covid: tests increase, but positives and victims decrease

Coronavirus test positives and victims have dropped in the last 24 hours in Italy, according to data from the Ministry of Health. There are 13,908 positives, yesterday they were 15,146. The victims today are 316, while yesterday they were 391. (ANSA)


(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 12 - Coronavirus test positives and victims have dropped in the last 24 hours in Italy, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

There are 13,908 positives, yesterday there were 15,146.

The victims today are 316, while yesterday they were 391.


    Nevertheless, a further increase in tampons and antigenics carried out, 305,619 in the last 24 hours.

Yesterday there were 292,533 (13 thousand less).

The positivity rate is now 4.5% (yesterday 5.1%, 0.6 more).


    Patients admitted to intensive care units and ordinary wards are also decreasing: there are 2,095 people currently in resuscitation due to Covid-19, down by 31 units compared to yesterday, in the daily balance between entries and exits. There were 153 hospitalized 24 hours in intensive care. The hospitalized with symptoms in the ordinary wards are 18,736 (-206 compared to yesterday).


    Since the beginning of the epidemic, the total cases in Italy are now 2,697,296, 93,045 dead. Currently positive people are 402.174 (-2.845 compared to yesterday), those recovered or discharged are 2.202.077 (+16.422). There are 381,343 people in home isolation (-2,608 compared to yesterday).
