How to prepare the lightning buns
Mix the milk, water and sugar together well and heat the mixture to around 30 to 35 degrees.
Hand warm is
sufficient, otherwise the yeast will break down.
Now crumble the fresh yeast into the warm liquid and let it develop for
five minutes
(small bubbles appear).
Now mix in the flour, salt and oil and stir everything into a smooth dough.
If it's too sticky, mix in flour spoonfuls until you are satisfied with the consistency (not too sticky, not too crumbly)
Now cut off about twelve rolls, roll them into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
Optionally, you can also sprinkle the rolls with grains.
To do this, first dip in milk or lukewarm water and then in the desired grain mixture.
Then place on the tray.
Push the finished tray into the oven and set the fan to 200 degrees.
Place a fire-proof bowl with boiling hot water.
The steam keeps the surface of the rolls moist and helps them rise well.
The rolls rise nicely in the preheating time of the oven and are baked in 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the oven.
So you only have to prepare a maximum of ten minutes and can use the baking minutes to shower and set the table - and then simply enjoy the fresh rolls.
