Supported by the South union, employees of the Saint-Etienne burger chain planned to demonstrate on Saturday against slog outfits

"To fry the turkeys", "you have to stuff it", "a very pig restaurant", "he is cho Rizo" ... Brut Butcher, a chain of burgers created by the Despi group four years ago in Saint-Etienne (Loire), had chosen to use bold humor to promote its concept.

These messages, written on the back of their outfits, the 200 employees of the brand, which has 26 restaurants, no longer support them.

Angry, they organized this Saturday February 13 a demonstration in front of the Saint-Etienne restaurant against these “sexist t-shirts”.

“They came to complain and discreetly alerted the labor inspectorate.

We understood the puns between meat and sex.

The problem is that Brut Butcher made young women wear these t-shirts during the service, ”denounces Frédéric Leschiera, representative of the South trade and services union.

But customers did not always behave like gentlemen.

“Employees regularly suffered obscene and salacious remarks,” says the union.

A new collection next month

Faced with the controversy, Brut Butcher had to apologize this week and urgently remove the offending t-shirts.

But the brand accepts the offbeat tone of its communication and announced that a new collection of humorous outfits will be unveiled next month.

Under these conditions, the employees decided to maintain their demonstration.

“We demand the right to inspect new T-shirts.

We also want Brut Butcher to stop photographing his employees with a badge that the CNIL (National Commission for Informatics and Freedoms) has declared illegal, ”warns the SUD union.
