The trailer for the movie about The Dyatlov Pass Incident English Trailer

The "Datelov Pass" incident took place in February 1959 in the Ural Mountains of the then Soviet Union, killing nine skiers.

It agitated the world at the time and became an unsolved mystery to this day.

The incident occurred on the east side of the "Mountain of Death."

Since then, the crossing on the mountain where the incident took place has been called the "Daylow Pass", named after the group's leader, Igor Daylow.

Some of the victims were found naked, some without certain body parts such as eyes and tongue and broken bones and researchers have previously estimated that surfers tore up their tents from the inside to effectively escape the danger posed to them.

They fled the scene, some barefoot, under heavy snow.

Although no sign of struggle was seen on the bodies, two of the victims had bruises on their skulls and ribs.

The Soviet authorities determined that an "unrecognized force" had caused their deaths, and following the incident blocked access for travelers and adventurers to the area for the next three years.

Since there are no survivors left, the order of the course of events is unclear, although there are several theories as to what happened.

The mysterious accident was investigated at the time by the Soviet regime, which claimed that the skiers died from hypothermia after walking in the snow for hours.

The incident was so mysterious and bizarre that some even thought the surfers had been abducted by aliens.

But a recent study and its results released this month claim that it was an avalanche that caused the disaster and not another mysterious force.

However, this conclusion, which has been raised in the past of course, left much room for interpretation and led to many other conspiracies and theories.

The new study attempted to provide answers based on solid evidence.

The authors of the study believe that a small avalanche, caused by unconventional circumstances, is the one that caused the disaster.

According to their explanation, the avalanche occurred over the tent of the skiers and caused them to escape into the frozen night and get lost.

John Gaum, one of the initiators of the study published in late January in Communications Earth & Environment magazine, explained: "We do not pretend to know what happened there and solve the mystery of the incident, as no one survived it to tell. But we show for the first time that it is likely due to Avalanche".

The avalanche theory has come up in the past, but has been controversial because snow usually does not cause injuries as some skiers have experienced.

But Gaum and his men have found new information about the angle at which the tent is located, which means that there is a very high probability of an avalanche more than they previously thought.

Regarding the serious injuries of some of the skiers, the explanation is that some of them lay on their backs in the tent while large pieces of snow hit them directly and caused them to break their bones.

Those who were less severely injured apparently cut the tent and rescued their comrades, hoping to rescue them all.

The authors of the study explained: "A simulation of an avalanche proved that even a small avalanche can cause serious injuries."

Despite this, they believe that this event will never be 100 percent deciphered.

Is that the explanation for what happened there?

According to Wikipedia, in January 2019 the Office of the Prosecutor General of Russia in the Sverdlovsk Oblast announced the reopening of the investigation of the incident.

At a press conference in July 2020, a spokesman for the Office of the Attorney General in the Federal District of Ural, Andrei Koryakov, said that Daylow's group had died in an avalanche.

Due to poor visibility, they were unable to find the tent after leaving it.

He also clarified that the cause of death was that the tourists were 50 meters away from their planned location and visibility in these weather conditions was only 16 meters.

The researchers conducted an experiment that confirmed that it is impossible to find a tent with your eyes closed, even if you know which direction to go.

Apparently the group of tourists decided to go ahead and light a fire.

When they tried to return to camp they froze, as the temperature was about minus 40-45 degrees.

"It was a heroic struggle. There was no panic. But they had no chance to escape in these circumstances," Koryakov concluded at the same press conference.
