Covid-19 in France: 199 new deaths in hospital and 21,231 contaminations in 24 hours

As on Friday, the number of patients hospitalized due to Covid-19 is declining slightly, without the circulation of the virus slowing down.

Public Health France thus reported this Saturday of 3294 patients in intensive care.

The day before, this indicator had passed for the first time in five days below the 3300 mark (3298).

Last Saturday, 3,215 serious cases had been recorded.

During previous waves of contamination, the number of patients in sheaves had reached 7,000 in the spring and 4,900 in the fall.

A total of 26,196 people are hospitalized in the country.

They were 26,424 on Friday.

This figure is down for the fifth consecutive day.

2,248,531 first vaccine injections

But the rate of contamination is not slowing down significantly.

The health agency recorded 21,231 new cases in 24 hours, against 20,701 on Friday and 20,586 last Saturday.

Health authorities also list 199 deaths linked to Covid-19 that have occurred in hospital in the past 24 hours.

In total, 81,647 people have died of this disease in France since the appearance of the new coronavirus in our territory.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in the country, 2,248,531 first injections of vaccine (i.e. 3.4% of the total population and 4.2% of the major population) and 639,899 second injections have been carried out, announced the Directorate General of Health this Saturday.
