& Mrs. Smith «return: The married couple who work as hit men will be a series adaptation on Amazon Prime Video next year.
The leading roles are played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover.
Doug Liman's 2005 action love comedy of the same name starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt grossed nearly $ 500 million worldwide.
Glover agreed to the production planned for 2022 with a short teaser video on Instagram - in the style of the »Silhouette Challenge«.
In the challenge, people pose in a door frame, using a kind of red light filter to create an image of a black silhouette against a red background;
with music from Paul Anka's “Put Your Head On My Shoulder” and Doja Cats “Streets”.

The award-winning duo takes over in the series version of »Mr.
& Mrs. Smith «not only play the lead roles, Glover and Waller-Bridge also act as series creators and producers;
Francesca Sloane ("Fargo") will act as showrunner.
Glover and Waller-Bridge were already seen together in 2018 in "Solo: A Star Wars Story" as Lando Calrissian and L3-37;
since then both have been friends.
In 2019, Glover shared his admiration for Waller-Bridge when he gave the laudation for the colleague at the British film award Bafta.
