On February 13, 2006, France discovered with horror the murder of Ilan Halimi, 23, tortured and killed, because he was Jewish, by "the gang of barbarians".
An anti-Semitic massacre which still marks the memories.
15 years later, gathered in the Ilan Halimi garden, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, around one hundred people paid tribute to the young man but also, more generally, to protest against racism.
“(Ilan Halimi) was killed because he was Jewish, because there was prejudice against Jews. Tortured, murdered because of it. Since then, there have been other deaths, notes Albert Herszkowicz, member of the Network of Actions against Antisemitism and All Racisms (Raar). And on the occasion of this deadline, we make it a gathering in which we announce our desire to fight against anti-Semitism and all racist acts. "
