Sheldon is possibly the most famous character in the series.
This is probably thanks in particular to Parson's ingenious staging of the figure.
But it could actually have turned out completely different.
In a podcast, series creator Bill Prady revealed that his colleague Chuck Lorre almost wanted to decide against Parsons.
He also gave a reason for this, which may sound a little illogical at first.

Back then, the makers invited around 100 actors to a casting.
Many candidates had at least partially convinced him and Chuck Lorre at the time.
When
Jim Parsons played
a scene, Prady was sure that he had found the only real Sheldon.
Lorre, however, had his doubts.
He didn't think Parsons was bad, on the contrary: “Chuck turned to me and said, 'No, he's going to break your heart.
He will never play the way he does today, ”says Prady.
The next day the actor came to a second casting - and he embodied the character again as we know it today.
At this moment, series creator Chuck Lorre was also convinced that he had found the ideal actor in Parsons.
