The Ministry of Education is training a team of researchers from different governorates who are able to identify the training needs of teachers and teachers in the pre-university education stage, with the aim of raising the level of efficiency of educational groups, improving their performance and providing them with new scientific, practical and social skills.

30 research trainees from the governorates of “Damascus and its countryside, Quneitra, Daraa, As-Suwayda, Deir Ezzor and Hasaka” began with training on the tools of the monitoring process and accurately assessing the necessary needs in order to transfer them to the field, according to the Director of Educational Preparation and Training in the Ministry of Education, Jamil Al-Tawil.

Al-Taweel explained that researchers will implement different research methods (questionnaire, interview and observation) and apply them to schools, collect reports and employ them in a guide that reflects the needs of the educational process in the field of training.

The training, which is carried out in cooperation with the UNESCO Regional Office of Education in Beirut and the Faculty of Education at the University of Damascus, aims, according to the Secretary General of the Syrian National Committee for UNESCO in the Ministry of Education, Dr. Nidal Hassan, to build capacity for monitoring the training needs of teachers and teachers, taking into account the individual differences between old teachers who have experience and new teachers.

The Dean of the Faculty of Education at Damascus University, Dr. Zainab Zyoud, explained that the field of researcher training focuses on using study tools in scientific ways to save time and effort and determine the real needs of the teacher in order to build future training programs.

For her part, the trainer, Dr. Nidaa, the assistant director of the Center for Educational Measurement and Evaluation, explained that she is training researchers on how to monitor the needs of teachers and teachers in schools in terms of performance and practical competencies, planning competencies, and others.

Among the trainee researchers, Amal Abu Ahmed, Head of the Preparation and Training Department in Sweida Education, pointed out that their work later will be through several tools, including questionnaire cards or notes that are distributed to teachers within the classes to monitor their training needs to develop the educational process, while Ahmed Al-Zahir from the Preparation and Training Department in Education Deir Al-Zour that after obtaining the necessary skills in the course, he will transfer them to schools through field visits and distribute questionnaires to teachers that monitor their deficiencies and address them through specific training courses.
