The coefficient of infection continues to decline, and as of today (Monday) it stands at 0.84, the National Information and Knowledge Center for the Battle of Corona announced this morning.

In addition, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein said that because there are teachers who do not intend to be vaccinated against the corona virus, his office is preparing a memorandum of law that will allow workers in places with unvaccinated people to undergo a corona test every two days: "I will not compromise on public safety."

"A teacher who does not get vaccinated, abandons the safety of the students and is promoted in his most important role - to protect the children," Edelstein said.

He added that so far, about 3.9 million Israelis have been vaccinated - 2.2 million of them are eligible for the green card.

He also said that yesterday we vaccinated 142,000 people, a figure that indicates an increase in the number of vaccinated compared to Sunday last week, when we vaccinated 119,000 people.

According to the daily snapshot of the Corona National Information and Knowledge Center, the declining morbidity trend continues, but its extent is still very high - with the number of patients in critical condition currently standing at 1,013 and the infection coefficient declining (currently at 0.84).

However, the rate of verified viruses and the burden on hospitals continue to be high.

A significant increase in the number of patients in a serious condition continues to be registered among the younger groups, which in the last two weeks constitute about 40% of the new serious illness.

The center warns that in the coming weeks there will be a re-increase in morbidity, due to the widespread distribution of the British variant and due to the removal of restrictions.

Netanyahu set a goal to end the crisis

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday set a target of five million vaccinators to end the corona crisis in Israel.

At the Corona cabinet meeting held yesterday, where the ministers discussed what should be the final outline for the epidemic, no decisions were made, and it is expected to convene again this afternoon.

To encourage the public to get vaccinated, the cabinet approved yesterday, in principle, to provide significant incentives to vaccine recipients, and according to the government's intention they can return to vacation in hotels, work out in gyms and enter museums, cultural shows, restaurants, pools, malls, football and basketball, Abroad and more.

Another limited outline for the opening of the skies, according to which up to 2,000 people can enter Israel 24 hours a day through Ben Gurion Airport. The decision will take effect this coming Saturday night, February 20-21. The decision was made following US threats not to allow El Al to land in its territory. Following its exclusivity, it has won the flight of rescue flights from Israel, and now American and other foreign companies will be able to do so, while meeting the 2,000-passenger limit.

These facilitations are expected to be approved individually (in regulations) today.

They will take effect gradually on February 23 and then on March 9 - in green and yellow localities.

In these localities, trade, the activity of the education system, and synagogues will also be gradually renewed, with priority given to green passport holders.
