The blue Marta Bassino won the gold medal in the parallel giant of the World Ski Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
The Piedmontese athlete beat the Austrian Katharina Liensberger in the final.
Bassino closed the two tests with the same time as her opponent but, as had already happened in the semifinals against the French Tessa Worley, she won because she set the best time in the second heat.
Worley won the final and took the bronze medal.
"It's not over here, at this point I believe so much in gold even in giant leagues. Today I took off a burden. I realized that you really want a result you can do it. Who do I dedicate the medal to? To my team that has done so much to help me. "
Bassino said this to Rai's microphones after the triumph in the giant parallel to the Cortina World Cup.
Frenchman Mathieu Fevre won the gold medal in the parallel giant world champion in Cortina 2021. Silver to Croatian Filip Zubcic and bronze to Swiss Loic Meillard.
