A "trick" quickly spread on Facebook.
But there is a catch.
Shopping carts in the supermarket are particularly in demand, not least because of the Corona crisis.
Do you want to unlock your shopping cart but don't have a coin?
A supposed trick was often commented on or shared on social media in the past year.
Independent of Corona.
But there is a catch: Keys or other objects can get stuck in the slot.
Shopping carts are even more popular in Corona times
In
Corona times
, it is extremely important
to observe
the prescribed
hygiene rules
.
Nationwide, every customer will have to wear a medical mask when shopping in the future;
In Bavaria there is even an FFP2 mask requirement when shopping.
You should also keep the necessary distances in the supermarkets.
It's not for nothing that a
shopping
trolley makes a
lot of sense, especially in these times.
This is how you automatically keep your distance from the person in front between the shelves.
Supposed shopping cart trick - there is a problem
But what if you don't have a coin * or a
chip
ready
for
your
shopping cart
?
Then you shouldn't try to unlock it with a key, for example.
According to a report by "Yahoo.com", this was pointed out at Aldi at the time, after an alleged shopping cart trick spread like lightning on social media.
A mother reportedly
shared
a photo on Facebook of a
silver key
she had put in the coin slot of an
Aldi shopping cart
.
Other users shared their alternatives to
coins *
and
keys
- including special keys for shopping carts that they bought on Ebay, as reported by "Yahoo".
The most unusual item in the extensive collection was probably a metal opener from a corned beef can.

Report: Aldi recommends that you continue to use shopping chips or coins
But
keys
or other objects can get stuck in the slot.
"Yahoo Lifestyle" quoted a company spokesman in its June 2020 report as saying: "We recommend that our customers continue to use coins or ALDI
shopping
chips to unlock
their
shopping carts
. Other objects can
get stuck or damaged
."
At the same time, the car itself could be damaged, as one can assume.
The shopping chips are available for 99 cents at the cash register, the spokesman was also quoted in the report at the time.
"And what's even better, they can be worn as a keychain so you never forget them at home."
The Australian portal "News.com.au" also reported on the "trick" with the shopping cart and the reactions and shared a corresponding post on Facebook.
