We are used to seeing Shlomi Saranga as someone who makes happy and turns every show into a Greek tavern.

But this time he puts out a quiet ballad, "Everyone Talks About Me," written and composed by Avi Ohayon and Dudi Bar-David (musical arrangement and production: Matan Dror).

This is Saranga's second single from a new album on the way.

"I always work with Yossi Gispen, but this time I turned to Avi Ohayon, Dudi Bar David and Matan Dror with the intention of doing something different from what I have done to date," says Saranga (47).

"I also write and compose for myself, but no matter how we turn it, I always get Greek style. Even if I sing in Hebrew. This time something really came out. People who heard the song told me they had never heard me like that. I am in favor of doing other things. ".

You're working on a new album.

"Right. There are more songs at work. The corona affected me, so we slowed down the work a bit, lowered the normal pace. I got down to a pace I could keep up with, without pressure. Work calmly."

When you say that the corona affected you you mean that you fell ill last August.

"True. I was not defined as seriously ill, but I got it very hard. I did not function for almost a month. I could not lift my head from the bed, I had a fever of close to 40 degrees. I was at home, I was not hospitalized because pneumonia did not develop, but I was in a state of dysfunction. I felt that I was not in control of my body and this disease. I was afraid that I was going to die and that no one could help. Doctors told me it would pass. In the end one doctor decided to send me antibiotics, after the fever did not go down.

"It's a devastating disease.

It eats the body from the inside.

I have since come back to myself but there are things that have not come back.

Sometimes there are moments of weakness, I feel that my memory is not the same.

I sing songs I used to sing every day, and suddenly sentences disappear.

The most important thing is to train the lungs after recovering, because in the corona it is difficult to breathe, get up in the morning and fight to take air.

Need to restore to the lungs the ability to get air into it so I worked on it a lot.

Almost five months later I ride a bike and feel like I'm back to myself. "

When you hear about people not wanting to get vaccinated, what do you think about it?

" These people have not experienced the disease and they think they are heroes.

They say 'it won't happen to me', but after they snatch it, they talk differently.

I know people closely who did not want to get vaccinated and after talking to me - everyone was convinced.

I do not wish it on anyone day of headache or shortness of breath as I experienced. "

It seems that soon returning to the stage.

" I've been performing since the age of 20, for 27 years, and suddenly a whole year I did not see what.

You lose confidence.

There will now be renewed excitement to take the stage, with new concerns.

I once did a filmed show in front of an empty hall during that time, and then I decided I didn’t want to.

I sing Greek.

Making a show without an audience is not that, it's like rehearsals.

I hope to return in May with my show following the life of the legendary Greek singer Stelios Kazangidis, and I am preparing to return the show 'Celebration with Saranga' ".
