vaccination campaign
, the critical issues and to make proposals.
At the end of the meeting, chaired by Antonio Decaro as president of ANCI and mayor of Bari,
the desire to collaborate for the best possible outcome of the vaccination campaign emerged
.
A campaign, explains a note, which, in order to be massive, cannot ignore the work that the mayors will have to coordinate in every medium or large city.
Decaro asked for clarity on the charges: the mayors will offer the plants, the structures to establish vaccination points, but for services such as cleaning and custody, it will be necessary to meet extraordinary expenses that cannot be borne by the municipalities.
On these points, Decaro sent a letter to the new Minister of Regional Affairs and Local Autonomies, Gelmini.
In the letter to Minister Gelmini, Decaro renewed his "willingness to continue along the path of loyal collaboration and the utmost commitment to sharing tools and objectives to ensure the country can overcome the emergency and quickly restart. By virtue of this willingness, you I represent the opportunity for direct involvement of the ANCI in the context of work and of the ongoing discussion for the definition of some essential aspects of the vaccination plan in favor of the population ".
"Impressing the maximum possible acceleration to achieve herd immunity is the priority objective that must see all the institutions, especially the territorial ones, involved and committed to this effort. Therefore, do not hesitate to involve the local autonomy system in the planning process concerning, in particular, the identification of structures and places for vaccination administration, in order to ensure as widespread diffusion as possible throughout the territory ", concludes the letter.
On the possibility of administering the AstraZeneca vaccine also to over-55s,
the president of the Italian Medicines
Agency
(
Aifa
), Giorgio Palù, explained to Uno Mattina that "
we too will probably re-evaluate, if necessary, this suggestion that was derived,
neither more nor less, from clinical validation studies ".
In the afternoon, according to ANSA,
a meeting will be held between experts from the Ministry of Health, the Italian Medicines Agency
and also representatives of the Regions to decide on the possibility of administering the anti-Covid AstraZeneca vaccine also to over -55.
