The case attracted a lot of attention last year: a white woman called the police in May 2020 after a harmless argument with a black man in New York's Central Park.
The caller was then investigated for false testimony, but the charges against her have now been dropped.
Prosecutor Joan Illuzzi said at a hearing in New York that the case against the woman would be closed after completing a course on racism and its prevention in everyday life.
Such a decision is standard for first-time offenders for an offense of this type.
The 41-year-old completed the program to the satisfaction of the authorities.
In the incident in late May, an African American hobby bird watcher asked the woman to leash her dog in accordance with the park rules.
She refused, called the police and threatened to report that a black man was threatening her life.
The video of the incident, which the bird watcher's sister posted on Twitter in May, had been viewed millions of times and caused a stir in the United States.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio had criticized the woman heavily and said the video shows "racism, very simple".
The woman, who was then fired by her employer, apologized, but denied all allegations of racism.
The hobby bird watcher has now turned the experience into a comic.
