A call for donations to finance the funeral of Tonton David and his "dream" of a last album

The day after the death of Uncle David, it is the throat that Samuel Grammont, 19, one of the singer's sons, confided in the Parisian.

In just a few hours, nearly 13,000 euros had already been collected to finance the funeral of the former French reggae star, who died on Tuesday February 16 at the age of 53, after a stroke.

We talked a lot about it as a family and we decided to launch it, to take charge of the entire funeral.

Obviously, we would have preferred not to appeal for the solidarity of the public, but we do not have enough money to cover all the costs of the ceremony.

My father retired from the musical world a long time ago, but people still loved him very much, he stuck in their hearts.

Every time we went out into the street people would recognize him, ask him for autographs, say kind words to him.

Everyone was adorable to him because he was always kind.

We didn't expect him to leave so young, it was sudden and we are still in shock.

But since Tuesday, we have received a lot of messages of support, relatives, his audience send us a lot of strength.

And that touches us enormously.

And yet the money ran out…

My daddy was very popular, but he didn't have a lot of income anymore and there wasn't a lot of money left in the accounts.

He still did a few concerts here and there to support us, but nothing to do with the heyday of his success.

We were four children and in order to bring up well in good conditions, he had left Paris for the east of France, the Moselle, where we lived happily.

He was always great with us, we were very close.

What will this pot be used for?

Beyond the funeral, the money raised will allow my father's biggest dream to come true, that of finishing an album he had been working on for years.

He was still in the studio before the accident.

He has always kept this dream deep within him, to make new songs that would appeal to the greatest number as before.

And to go on tour again.

Not too long ago, I asked him which album he was most proud of, and he replied: "the next one".

My dad was a fantastic dad, who hid his health issues from us so as not to worry.

Today, what we wish the most in the world, my mother and my brothers and my sister, is to fulfill his last wish and release this album "A Job or a Bizz" which he so wanted.

He had put all his heart into it.
