The government started talks in Israel confirming its clear interest in the vaccine that is being researched there and is still under development.

The Argentine sources consulted also indicated that they

seek to position themselves

in the event that the Israeli drug reaches a state of successful acceptance, approval and readiness for its commercialization and export.

Beyond the global problems that exist in the face of the eagerness in all countries to acquire the drug against the pandemic and the shortage of it by the pharmaceutical industry,

Argentina is lagging behind

when the ambitious plans announced and the materialization are compared thereof.

The truth is that the

international executive director

l

Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, Jorge Diener,

received Ambassador

Sergio Urribarri

to which explained the status of the development of the vaccine whose research is in the

hands actually the Institute Biological Israel.

To sign any type of agreement weeks or even months are missing, they warn.

They even talked about future cooperation with it.

Israel has been the leader in world vaccination, but it

opted for the Pfizer / BioNTech

(American-German)

vaccine

and with it it vaccinated at the moment about 5 million people and -

45 percent of its population

- of which 2.6 million have already received the second dose according to official information.

Even so, Israelis, who have one of the highest scientific developments in the world, consider the development of their own vaccine to be central, taking into account the

high level of demand

that is needed to reduce the attack of the virus: two doses every six months per person.

Ambassador Sergio Urribarri with the executive director of the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, Jorge Diener.

Urribarri and other members of the Argentine Foreign Ministry made this tour through Hadassah, which already has agreements with Argentine establishments such as the children's hospital, Garrahan and others, and is currently one of the Israeli centers that already has cooperation agreements with the Institute Biological researching the COVID vaccine for months.

"The Israeli vaccine is still in Phase II, it

is premature to talk about its arrival in Argentina

. It still needs to pass Phase III and pass both the domestic and international approval process. We do not rule out the possibility that they may reach Argentina after all the process that lies ahead, but we emphasize that it is still early, "said Israeli diplomatic sources after consulting this newspaper.

For his part, Diener, who is of Argentine origin, said that 180 volunteers participated in Phase II and

20,000 volunteers

participated in Phase II

.

Hadassah is a private but not-for-profit hospital and serves the entire population.

As it also does research, and is an important center for supplying pharmacological drugs to patients -1.5 million a year- it

cared for a significant part of the population infected with coronavirus

.

Regarding this vaccine in development, it is already in talks with other countries in the region, such as Brazil and Mexico.
