Hours after the arrival of vaccines from India and after returning to face-to-face classes in several provinces, the Ministry of Health reported

6,064 new cases

of coronavirus and 184 deaths in Argentina in the last 24 hours.

With the update released this Wednesday, the total number of infected since the start of the pandemic

reaches 2,039,124

.

Of these, 145,630 are active patients, while 1,842,878 correspond to people who have already recovered.

In addition, with the 184 recent deaths, the number of deaths from Covid-19 reaches 50,616 across the country.

There are 3,573 patients admitted to intensive care.

The occupation of intensive care units for adults is 58.7% in the Metropolitan Area of ​​Buenos Aires (AMBA), while at the national level it is 53.8%.

in the last 24 hours, with their respective accumulated since March 2020, are the following: Province of Buenos Aires (2,602 - 851,056), the City of Buenos Aires (764 - 224,137), Córdoba (438 - 152,911) and Santa Fe (320 - 212,567).

registered on this day are: Corrientes (289 - 20,421), Neuquén (225 - 59,148), Chubut (175 - 45,508), Río Negro (151 - 50,948), Mendoza (134 - 65,864), Tucumán (129 - 78,323), Santa Cruz (117 - 34,750) and Chaco (104 - 32,684).

The rest of the provinces reported less than 100 cases on the day: Misiones (95 - 7,059), Entre Ríos (85 - 43,767), San Juan (82 - 14,742), Catamarca (81 - 6,963), Jujuy (51 - 19,878) , Santiago del Estero (48 - 21,962), Tierra del Fuego (46 - 22,529), La Pampa (43 - 17,841), La Rioja (35 - 9,916), Salta (34 - 24,935), Formosa (10 - 988) and San Luis (6-20,227).

The Province of Buenos Aires was the one that registered the most deaths from Covid-19 on the day, with 69 (21 women, 47 men and 1 without data).

It was followed by Santa Fe (18), Santa Cruz (15), La Rioja (13), Chaco (11) and Río Negro (10).

The City of Buenos Aires registered six deaths (one woman and five men).

The new daily balance on the coronavirus in the country comes on the day that face-to-face classes were resumed, in a gradual return to the classrooms.

After almost a year, this Wednesday began the return to schools in the City of Buenos Aires, under strict security protocols.

Face-to-face classes also returned in Santa Fe, Jujuy and Santiago del Estero.

In addition, in the last hours the arrival of vaccines from India was completed.

This Wednesday at dawn, 580 thousand doses of Covishield arrived at the Ezeiza international airport, on a Qatar Airlines flight.

It is the vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India, with technology developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford.

It is added to the 1.22 million doses of Sputnik-V that had already been sent from Russia on four Aerolineas Argentinas flights.

Meanwhile, the Government entered into negotiations with Israel to sign an agreement for the vaccine being developed in that country.

Ambassador Sergio Urribarri began conversations with the director of one of the Israeli centers, with the aim of acquiring the drug if it successfully passed the testing stage.

Currently, the Israeli vaccine is in phase II.
