Napoli does not confirm or deny the news circulating in the city according to which Viktor Osimhen would be the professional on whose swab the variant of covid19 discovered yesterday at the Pascale Institute in Naples was found.
The blue club, consulted by ANSA, in fact states that it is not at all aware of the research investigations that are carried out on the tampons of its members: the club dealt with the case of Osimhen's covid simply by subjecting it to the tampon on his return to Italy and putting him in isolation at home as soon as he discovered his positivity to the virus, in line with the regulations.
Napoli recalls that he immediately carried out swabs to the whole team, repeated many times in the following days, verifying that there were no other infections, and that the footballer had not met his teammates on his return to Italy before discovering that he was positive. Napoli specifies that it is awaiting official news from health sources on the fact that Osimhen may have had the variant. Meanwhile, the Nigerian striker is now well, he has been negative for some time and is quietly attached to the team with which he will soon leave for Spain for the first leg of the Europa League.
