(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 17 - Israeli Prime Minister BenyaminNetanyahu spoke with US President Joe Biden for the first time since he took office in the White House.

The prime minister's official Twitter account reports.


    The conversation, defined as "warm and friendly", lasted about an hour.

The two leaders recalled their long-lasting personal relationships, pledging to work together to further strengthen the US-Israel alliance.


    The US president and the Israeli premier "discussed the future steps forward of the peace accords, the Iranian threat and regional challenges, pledging to continue their dialogue", reads the tweet. "President Biden congratulated Prime Minister Netanyahu on his leadership in the fight against the coronavirus and the two shared ideas on how to deal with the pandemic." (HANDLE).
