The Court of Milan ordered the provisional execution of the injunction against Sky for the payment to Lega Serie A of the 130 million euro installment relating to the TV rights for the 2019/20 season.
ANSA learns this.
The broadcaster had not in fact paid the last installment for the rights of the last championship, asking for a discount in light of the rescheduling of the calendar following the coronavirus emergency.
The Court, without going into the merits of the matter, has ordered Sky to pay the 130 million for now, pending a new hearing scheduled for June 8th.
"Sky takes note of today's decision by which the Court of Milan, as part of a procedural step, ordered the provisional enforceability of the injunction required by Lega Serie A for the payment of the sixth installment of the audiovisual rights of the 2019/20 season of the Serie A Championship ".
This is what we read in a note from the company to ANSA after the decision of the Court of Milan.
"Sky will comply with the provisional execution of the decree pending the judgment on the merits - continues the note -. This pronouncement does not take the company by surprise and, as witnessed yesterday with the letter sent to Lega Calcio and all clubs, Sky has always sought to pursue a constructive dialogue with the League itself also by virtue of its role as a historical and reliable partner ", concludes Sky.
