"The Secret of the Cursed Chest" is "Pirates of the Caribbean" at its best: boosted by the surprise success of the first part, but not yet become a marketing vein, as in a few subsequent episodes.
Always so funny, and magnified by sumptuous visual discoveries (the film won the Oscar for best visual effects in 2007), this second opus offers a rare blend of efficiency and poetry.
The best Hollywood can do.

Love at altitude
At 8:55 p.m. on Arte.
After “the Wild Reeds”, in 1994, director André Téchiné (“Hôtel des Amériques”, “Rendez-vous”) once again tackles adolescence, a theme that is dear to him.
Divided into three parts, corresponding to the three terms of the school year, “When we are 17 years old”, a story set in the Pyrenees, follows step by step the violence, then the attraction that develops between two high school students who are opposed to each other. : Damien, played by Kacey Mottet Klein (seen in "Gainsbourg, heroic life"), and Tom, played by Corentin Fila.
Endearing, sensitive, the feature film is also served by its two young actors, amazing, but also a luminous Sandrine Kiberlain as the mother of one of the two heroes and solitary woman whose husband is on a mission abroad.
Modern in its dialogues that hit the mark (the screenplay is co-written with Céline Sciamma, the director of "Tomboy"), this film also proves that at 73 at the time, Téchiné was making a good young man's film.

In "Assassinated" Patricia Kaas plays a woman devastated by the disappearance of her daughter.

Cathy is going to celebrate the 20th birthday of her daughter, Eva.
For the occasion, she decides to make peace with her ex-husband and invites him to the party.
Without news from Eva, she goes to the police station.
She learns that her daughter has been murdered.
Convincing in this second job as an actress (she had turned ten years earlier in a Claude Lelouch a little forgotten, "And now ... Ladies and gentlemen"), Patricia Kaas plays a woman devastated by the disappearance of her daughter.
A role that the singer hesitated to accept.
To get into the skin of this upset woman, the artist isolated herself in a hotel before the shooting (in Seine-et-Marne and in Calvados) and then cut herself off from those close to her for her entire duration.
For a result acclaimed by critics, but also viewers: during its first broadcast, in 2012, “Assassinated” had attracted more than 5.4 million fans in front of their small screen.
However, the artist will not shoot anything afterwards.

ACTION.
In pursuit of the robber
At 9 p.m., on CStar.
Jacob is a happy family man who takes care of his daughter who has diabetes.
While a bomb threat is triggered in the city, he goes to the bank of which he is the manager, when it is robbed by a lone and extremely violent man.
A guard is killed and the attacker manages to escape.
Jacob, himself, comes out physically unscathed but the tragedy has traumatized him.
With the help of his neighbor, a former cop, he sets out on the trail of the man who haunts his nights, trying to anticipate his next crime.
"Reprisals" does not shine by its scenario which is furiously lacking in credibility (especially the end).
On the other hand, we let ourselves be taken in by the actors.
Bruce Willis is the biggest name on the poster, but he plays a supporting role here, that of the neighbor.
If we see him little, he does not fail to illustrate himself during memorable scenes.
The hero is played by Frank Grillo, whom we have loved since the “Kingdom” series.
Action film without subtlety, "Reprisals" is appreciated as a guilty pleasure where two angry men chase a third, all punctuated by long scenes of shootings.
