Doctors in the United States are reporting a significant increase in cases of children who contracted corona and then experienced the life-threatening multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C) after recovery from the virus, according to the New York Times.

"We are now getting a lot more children who are experiencing this syndrome and they are also in a much more difficult situation. These are children who come with rashes on the body, red eyes, digestive problems and in some cases heart damage," said Dr. Roberta Debasi, director of the Department of Infections in Children. At the National Children's Hospital in Washington.

It is important to note that despite the reported increase in the US in these cases, in most cases doctors are able to save the children affected by the syndrome. So far, 30 children from 48 countries around the world have died from the syndrome, while in the US alone 2,060 have been reported.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has examined patients and published information that the median age of children with the disease is nine, with most patients being one to 14 years old.

However, adolescents up to the age of 20 as well as toddlers under the age of one also arrived.

Another data collected so far by the Center for Disease Control is that most of the children who came to the hospital (about 70%) were of Hispanic, Latin or African American descent.

Also, 58% of cases of the syndrome were among boys.

Just two days ago, two children were reported in Israel who had recovered from Corona, in which they fell ill about a month ago, and are now suffering from a complex disease that includes a multi-systemic inflammatory response.

Among them is a 14-year-old boy whose condition is defined as extremely serious, he is hospitalized in intensive care and his life is in danger.

The other child is in stable condition and has been hospitalized for observation.

Dr. Deganit Adam, director of pediatric intensive care at Meir Medical Center of the Clalit Group, said: "We are witnessing that although everyone was sure the children were not at risk of coronary heart disease, there are a growing number of children hospitalized due to the virus and its complications.

Some come to us in a very complex medical condition.

It is important to be aware of this and pay attention to the symptoms after the corona - fever, rash, redness in the eyes and other symptoms, even about a month after the disease. "
