Florida, Georgia and South Carolina - that's how manageable the list of US states is that currently has NO snow.
73 percent of the continental US is currently covered in snow, according to CNN.
Such a value has not existed since recording began in 2003.
These key figures show that the United States is currently facing a historic onset of winter.
As CNN further reports, more than 2000 cold records have been set across the country during the numerous snowstorms and ice nights.
On Tuesday alone, 20 cities recorded the lowest temperatures in their history.
Around 105 million people are currently in areas with winter storm warnings or at least notices.
So far 21 people have died all over the country.
The southern state of Texas was hit particularly hard recently.
The weather there had caused massive power outages.
According to the website poweroutage.us, the number of households without electricity rose to just under 4.4 million by Monday evening (local time).
In a number of houses and apartments, the mostly electric heating failed.
Even in Mexico hundreds of thousands without electricity
The National Weather Service (NWS) spoke of an "unprecedented and far-reaching, dangerous winter weather" from one coast to the other.
According to the weather service, there was "cold arctic air" in the center of the country.
And after a short break in the middle of the week, the conditions in large parts of the country should tighten again from Wednesday or Thursday.
In Mexico, too, in the states of Nuevo León, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Tamaulipas, Durango and Zacatecas, almost five million households were temporarily without electricity on Monday, as the state electricity provider CFE said.
The supply has now been restored to around two thirds of the connections, it said.
The freezing of pipelines led to an interruption in the gas supply.
