(ANSA) - TARANTO, FEBRUARY 18 - ArcelorMittal filed with the Council of State the appeal against the sentence of the Tar Leccedello last February 13 which ordered the company to comply with the emission ordinance of the mayor of Taranto Rinaldo Melucci and consequently to turn off the plants hot area by 14 April. The TAR has defined the danger for the population linked to emissions from the steel industry as "permanent and immanent".
In the provision of the TAR it is stated that the plant, which now sees the State, through Invitalia, support ArcelorMittal in the management, still pollutes. And it is pointed out that not even the respect of The Hague entails "in itself a guarantee of the exclusion of risk or health damage". (HANDLE).
