In the midst of a fall in Covid infections throughout the country, the Ministry of Health reported that
7,671 new cases
and another 242 deaths from coronavirus were registered in the last 24 hours in Argentina.
With this new update, the number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic
reaches 2,046,795
, of which 146,487 are active patients and 1,849,451 correspond to people who have recovered.
In addition, the
242 new deaths
from coronavirus bring to 50,857 deaths linked to Covid since March 2020.
The
provinces with the most cases
in the last 24 hours and the accumulated total in each jurisdiction is as follows: Province of Buenos Aires (3,254 - 854,310), Córdoba (848 -153,759), City of Buenos Aires (794 - 224,931), Santa Fe (402-212,969) and Chubut (314-45,822).
With
100 or more infections
registered on the day there are also: Neuquén (294 - 59,442), Río Negro (221 - 51,169), Entre Ríos (193 -43,960), Mendoza (164 - 66,028), Corrientes (147 -20,568), Tucumán (120 - 78,443), Santa Cruz (114 - 34,864), Misiones (102 -7,161), La Pampa (100 - 17,941) and Chaco (100 -32,784).
On the other hand, the provinces that had
less than 100 cases
are: Salta (89 - 25,024), San Juan (79 - 14,821), Santiago del Estero (70 - 22,032), Catamarca (68 - 7,031), Tierra del Fuego (55 - 22,584), Formosa (52 - 1,040), Jujuy (45 - 19,923), La Rioja (29 - 9,945) and San Luis (17 - 20,244).
There was no update on the status of the intensive care units.
The latest data available is the one released on Wednesday: 53.8% occupancy nationwide and 58.7% in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires.
This is the highest number of infections in a week, after the 7,739 reported on February 10 and after the long weekend due to the Carnival holidays.
