(ANSA) - NEW YORK, FEBRUARY 18 - Malia Obama goes to Hollywood: according to sources from the "Hollywood Reporter", the eldest daughter of former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle has entered the "writers' room" of "Hive" (beehive), an Amazon Prime series inspired by a character similar to singer Beyoncé.
The Obamas' daughter is 22 years old and is about to graduate from Harvard: since she was in high school, at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, she has cultivated interests in the world of cinema doing high profile stages in various TV productions including "Girls" by Hbo and "Extant" of CBS and the Weinstein Company, before manufacturer Harvey Weinstein was overwhelmed by allegations of rape and sexual harassment.
The Amazon series is part of a multi-year maxi agreement that the entertainment giant has set up with DonaldGlover, the actor, singer, rapper, comedian, screenwriter, producer and director also known by the stage name of Childish Gambino.
The agreement that the Hollywood Reporter values millions of dollars unchanged would lead, among other things, to the creation of a channel dedicated to Glover's work.
It is not clear what role the Obama daughter will play in the writers room.
What is certain is that Malia made herself loved in the course of her internships: "He is an angel", said of her Lena Dunham, the creator, director and interpreter of "Girls" who had taken her under the wing when she was intern at HBO: "Of course we didn't send her for coffee, you don't do it with a president's daughter, but she wanted to do all the work. She was totally enthusiastic."
