The organization of summer festivals is taking shape.
For those who have not already been forced to cancel, it will be necessary to provide a maximum gauge of 5,000 people, who will have to remain seated, according to the Syndicate of current music (SMA), after a meeting on Thursday , with the Minister of Culture, Roselyne Bachelot.
"We know a little more about the general framework, but there are still areas of uncertainty, what is certain is that the 2021 festival season will not be like the others," said Aurélie Hannedouche of the SMA.
In addition to this limited seating and outdoor capacity, there will be no bars or restaurants, says Ouest-France.
The Vieilles Charrues festival (270,000 spectators in 2019) confirmed to AFP that it was ready to "adapt".
A fund of 30 million euros for festivals
According to BFMTV, 80% of structures can adapt.
"We will help those forced to cancel and also those who will adapt," said the Minister of Culture, who announces an aid fund of 30 million euros which will be "replenished" if necessary.
On February 15, Roselyne Bachelot announced “experiments” in March and April, in Marseille and Paris, for “standing” concerts in order to find a model allowing the reopening of performance venues despite the Covid-19 epidemic.
“I am very optimistic for seated festivals […].
For standing shows, it's more complicated, that's why I'm carrying out experiments and these experiments are intended to test what's going on, ”Roselyne Bachelot warned on the LCI channel.
