Omar Adam, in case you did not notice, is not really with us anymore.

For almost a year now, the singer has been touring the world and taking part in activities that range from starting an international career to alleviating boredom.

Still, there are no stages to appear on these days.

So far he has managed to celebrate at parties on yachts, hang out in Miami, vacation in Mexico and be photographed with birds of prey in Dubai.

It's not that we're opening our eyes to him, God forbid.

Anyone who really follows the exploits of the 27-year-old musician will notice that between all the parties he also gives work - at least in terms of mingling with names from the world industry.

In Dubai he met Egyptian star Muhammad Ramadan, and in Miami he sat with super producer Scott Storch.

In the Emirates he was spotted in the company of the famous Dutch DJ Martin Gricks, and in his story he revealed a joint work on a song with Nicki Jam, the Puerto Rican reggaeton giant.

In between, he also managed to team up for a duet with Chico Castillo of the Gypsy Kings, and schedule appearances for next month in New York and Los Angeles.

The message is clear: after conquering Israel - Omar Adam wants to conquer the world.

Maybe that's why he chose to call his new album "The 8".

As the name implies, this is the singer's eighth studio album, and it also contains eight songs - making the international name ambiguous.

Three of the songs on the new album are indeed new.

Five of them "unfortunately leaked over the years," as the press release states, "and as a result did not officially go out."

The new album is defined by Omar's people as a "one-time gift for fans."

What is certainly not unique in a person's work is the use of the root SGA in its many forms.

What will become a classic in "Two Crazy Men" is rolling here to the successful "I went crazy because of you" that opens the album.

It was written by my uncle Bar David and Elia Rossilio, themselves successful musicians.

In "When You Go" a man sings "When you go I go crazy".

The song that seals the collection mentions "crazy periods of children in the periphery", and in the "soundtrack of my life" he reveals to his lover "I was crazy about you".

Not that an artist's clinging to a word is something new or wrong, but when it comes to a collection of ballads all dedicated to the object of romantic passion, it's hard not to notice textual repetitions.

How does he sing himself here?

"And all the songs are already the same."

Anyone who expects to find on this album a bouncy party hit from the districts of his fun "Hoffa" from ten years ago, will not get what he is looking for here.

In this respect, Omar Adam seems to have matured.

The songs on the album are very thin in terms of production.

Quiet, nostalgic, led by acoustic guitars, piano and strings - a delicate musical line.

This is not to say that there are no tracks on the album that could easily be radio hits for rainy winter days.

"Doing us good," written by Avi Ohayon and Matan Dror, is just like that, and so is "what fell out of our hands" written by Natan Goshen.

The pearl of the album is without a doubt "millionaires", thanks in no small part to the wonderful words of Adir Getz and Nati Avidan.

So what if lines like "So let's throw us wine in the car, and on the way we fill out a lottery, go know you might come back from the desert millionaires" sound funny from the biggest success of the decade.
