Naomi Osaka and Jennifer Brady are the finalists of the Australian Open in Melbourne.
In the Italian night the Japanese number 3 in the world eliminated the former queen of world tennis, Serena Williams, currently number 10 in the ranking, with a clear 6-3 6-4.
In the other semifinal, the American Brady (22) defeated the Czech Karolina Muchova for 6-4 3-6 6-4.
The final will take place on Saturday in the center court of Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena.
A burning defeat for Serena Williams, so much so that she left the usual post-match press conference in tears. "If I ever had to leave tennis, I wouldn't tell anyone," said the American champion, visibly annoyed, answering a question about her possible goodbye to the racket. "Today - reports Supertennis TV - was not an ideal match and it did not end with a positive outcome, but it happens. I am so honored to play in front of you" she added to the Australian audience, who have always supported her. Her latest Grand Slam triumph was in Melbourne, in the 2017 edition, when she was already pregnant with her daughter Alexis Olympia.
