The government of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta decided to relax the restrictions that were imposed by the coronavirus and, as of Friday, establish an extension of the time slot in which gastronomic activity is allowed: with the new provision, bars and restaurants

will be able to remain open until 2 in the morning.

The measure will be formalized on Friday through its publication in the Official Gazette of the City.

However,

Clarín

agreed to the decree that establishes the following: "Gastronomic establishments and / or gastronomic activities in the scope of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, may not remain open to the public between the hours of 02:00 to 06:00."

In this way, the restrictions that were tightened on January 10 to avoid concentrations of people during the night hours are left behind.

On that occasion, it was established that bars and restaurants

should close at 1 and remain that way until 6.

At that time the clandestine parties generated concern, so the health authorities decided to impose restrictions to guarantee social distancing at night.

Now, Rodríguez Larreta's administration considered that "attentive to the time elapsed, it is considered pertinent to establish a new time limitation regarding the operation of gastronomic establishments and / or gastronomic activities within the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires", according to the decree .

The Buenos Aires government decision was known this Thursday, when the City reported 794 new infections, with which the total number of people who fell ill in that jurisdiction jumped to 224,931.

A similar measure was adopted by the government of the province of Buenos Aires led by Axel Kicillof.

That measure went into effect on January 11 and also established that bars and restaurants can remain open until 2 a.m.

The decision was adopted after verifying a sustained decrease for three consecutive weeks in the number of infections by Covid-19 throughout the territory.

"The state of the health situation shows a slight decrease in the daily average, with 3,674 cases compared to 3,882 the previous week," explained the Minister of Health, Daniel Gollán.
