The whereabouts of Ivana Modica (47) has been unknown for a week, when her relatives reported her disappearance in the town of La Falda, Córdoba province.

This Thursday the rakings continued along the road that connects La Falda with the Pampa de Olaen, an area that was known to his partner,

Javier Galván, the

main suspect and the only detainee in the case.

The partner of Ivana, an Air Force flight test pilot, had uploaded an image of that place to their Facebook profile in January.

He can be seen sitting on a stone, holding a stick and smiling.

The photo takes on another dimension at this time, when

more than 100 troops are engaged in the tasks of finding Modica

, who used to hike through mountain trails, which is why she was also sought in the area of Cerro La Banderita and in the vicinity of the Dam of La Falda.

The photo is from January 6.

He would have gone to that place with Ivana.

However, since Tuesday, after a report from a rural patrol that would have seen Galván's car last Thursday night, the investigation moved to the road that connects La Falda and Characato, in

the Pampa de Olaen

.

General Commissioner Ariel Lecler, deputy chief of the Córdoba Police, said that

"the prognosis is not very encouraging"

in reference to the search, although he stated that "hopes of finding her are not lost."

Lecler made statements from the so-called "zero point" of the search, which is the road that connects La Falda with Characato, where the field camp for the raking operations was set up.

The operation in that sector began with a piece of information provided by the rural patrol, which would have seen in the area

a car similar to Galván's

, who was arrested last Monday at the request of the Cosquín prosecutor, Jorgelina Gómez, and was charged, in principle, of the crimes of "aggravated false testimony and disobedience to authority".

By land, by water and by air, follow the search for Ivana.

The arrest and the accusation arose from the "contradictions" in the testimonial statement and for "violating the distancing order" that was imposed months ago, after a complaint that Modica had made for gender violence.

Although it is an exempt crime, investigators prefer to keep Galván in custody until the woman can be found.

According to investigators, Ivana last communicated with her daughter Nicole last Thursday around midnight, when she exchanged messages with her cell phone.

Galván made the police report for the disappearance on Friday

, arguing that he had left for work at 6.30 and that, when he returned in the afternoon, the woman was not at home.

Likewise, the now detained and accused had provided information to the Police that, allegedly, the woman had gone for a walk in the area of Cerro La Banderita, in La Falda, and based on that information a rapid and intense search operation was mounted. with personnel from Fire, Police, Civil Defense and other organizations, both by land with dogs and by air with drones and a helicopter.

However, as the hours passed and as a result of the contradictions in the man's statement, the prosecutor requested the arrest of the suspect and focused the search first on the La Falda dam and now on the road to the Pampa de Olaen.
