(ANSA) - PAVIA, 18 FEB - It would have been a young drifter who killed Lidia Pescherera, 49, the woman found mortars in her apartment in Pavia.
Alessio Nigro, 28, originally from the province of Lodi, who had an affair with the victim, confessed to the crime after being stopped late yesterday evening by the Pavia carabinieri in a hostel in Milan.
Subjected to arrest for the crime of voluntary homicide, he was taken to the prison of Torre del Gallo aPavia.
The 28-year-old, with alcoholism problems and devoid of fixation, explained to the prosecutor, Mario Venditti, and alsostituto, Diletta Balduzzi, that on Friday 12 February, during another quarrel, seized by a raptus, he strangled the woman in the bathtub.
Nigro remained in the apartment in via Depretis until Monday 15 February;
He also explained to the investigators that he had used his partner's cell phone to send messages to the employer so as not to alarm him at the absence of Lidia Peschechera.
But it was precisely the owner of the company where the woman worked, who was alarmed by the fact that the woman did not answer the phone and also by the content of the messages received.
The ex-husband of the victim was thus notified and subsequently the police who yesterday discovered the body, lying in the bathtub, in a state of decomposition and covered by a towel.
