(ANSA) - NEW DELHI, FEB 19 - Sunil Solanki, an important exponent of the Bharatiya Janata Party has revived an old argument against Sonia Gandhi, the president of the Congress party, accusing her of wanting to impose the culture of her country of origin on India.
The pretext is a passage of the electoral program of the Gandhi party for the next municipal elections in Vadodara, the third largest city in the state of Gujarat.
In the Manifesto, the Congress promises to create cafes and meeting places where young people and women can meet, outside private homes, meet and organize parties. "The program - attacks Solanski - shows that that party has no respect for our ancient traditions and that it wants to impose behaviors inspired by Italian culture". In response to Solanski, an exponent of the youth section of the Congress, Malini Shah, accused the BJP of having "a reactionary attitude towards the needs of young people". And he added ironically: "Are coffees only found in Italy? Don't they exist in the rest of the world?" (HANDLE).
