(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 19 - "Thanks to the government's okay to the amendment I presented to extend the academic year from March 31 to June 15, we are able to meet the needs and requests of many student students who will now be able to graduate without having to go - enroll, and then pay the relative university fees, for a new academic year ".

This was stated by Alessandro Fusacchia (Mixed) expressing his appreciation for the opinion expressed by the government in the Budget Committee, which is examining the Milleproroghe decree.

"I had also presented another amendment", continues Fusacchia "to give more time to the commissions of the sixth quarter of the National Scientific Qualification 2018-2020, in consideration of the prolongation of the Covid emergency and the exponential increase in applications, over 11 thousand, the average applications in the first five quarters had been just over 4,000 ".

"Together with our colleagues from Leusiamo we were able to point out both of these amendments, that is, to ensure that indiscussion and vote would end up in the package of 300 amendments".

"Normally", concludes Fusacchia, "extensions are never a good thing, because they are a sign of a country that is struggling to plan.

But in exceptional moments, like this one in which we find ourselves due to pandemics, they can introduce important elements of flexibility that are beneficial of citizens, in the specific case of our university students ".
