One of three brothers arrested by the police on suspicion of a planned Islamist terrorist attack is free again.
The 40-year-old from the Offenbach area had been released from pretrial detention, said the attorney general in Naumburg.
An urgent suspicion against the man has not been substantiated.
The investigation against him continues.
The Syrian was suspected of having been involved in the preparation of a serious state-endangering act of violence.
In the Dessau apartment of one of his brothers and in Denmark, means were found that could have been used to manufacture explosives, the Public Prosecutor General said.
When evaluating the traces, there was insufficient evidence to indicate that the 40-year-old was involved with the necessary certainty.
The Public Prosecutor's Office therefore applied for the warrant to be lifted.
The Federal Criminal Police Office became aware of the trio after one of the brothers in Poland had ordered five kilograms of aluminum powder and sulfur each for delivery to Dessau-Rosslau in Saxony-Anhalt.
