After letter bombs exploded at two food companies in Baden-Württemberg, it became known that the Bavarian baby food manufacturer Hipp should also receive such a shipment.

The dpa news agency has confirmed information from the "Bild" newspaper.

The shipment was identified on Thursday night at a mail distribution center at Munich Airport.

According to the investigators, the motive is still in the dark, but they assume that the acts are related.

Apparently the shipment to Hipp had been delivered to a post office together with the letter and the package for the drinks manufacturer ADM Wild in Eppelheim and the Lidl headquarters in Neckarsulm.

A special commission with 100 investigators is investigating the cases and is also dealing with similar previous acts.

Meanwhile, all of the injured have been released from the hospital.

An employee of a beverage manufacturer in Eppelheim suffered a bang on Tuesday when he accepted a package in the goods receiving department.

Three people were injured on Wednesday when opening a letter at Lidl headquarters in Neckarsulm.

The food industry is exposed to emotional criticism

Meanwhile, the food association is calling on its members to be more vigilant.

"We have informed them what to watch out for when accepting parcels," said a spokesman for the association of the news agency dpa.

The post offices are supposed to sort out shipments if they don't have a known sender, have bumps or are unusually heavy.

The industry is exposed to very emotional criticism that borders on hate.

This was expressed in social media, emails or threatening phone calls.

The food industry is being "thrashed".

That was very acute again this week.
