(ANSA) - TEL AVIV, 21 FEB - In a book destined to cause a stir and controversy in Israel, the daughter of Amos Oz accused her father of having been violent towards her until the last days of her life.

In the newly published Hebrew autobiography entitled 'Something disguised as love', Galia Oz denounces a difficult relationship with her father, guardian of Israeli literature and a progressive icon.

"In my childhood - the book begins - my father beat me, cursed and humiliated me. The violence was creative: he dragged me out of the house and chased me away. He called me crap. Not a fleeting loss of control and not a slap in the face. face here and there, but a routine of sadistic abuse ".

"My crime - added Galia, a successful children's book writer - was myself, so the punishment never ended. He had to be sure that I would have to break".

A portrait rejected by the rest of the Oz family: the author's widow Nili and her other two children - Fania and Daniel - strongly contested Galia's claims.

"We met - they wrote in a joint statement - a different father: a warm, loving, attentive parent who loved his family".
